Yarn testing
There are many different yarn types supplied with many different finishes. It is necessary to characterize the stress strain curve, creep and stress rupture, friction and abrasion resistance as well as fatigue properties. In rope failure analysis, the condition of the yarn, the residual strength and the degree of filamentation leave tell-tale signs as to the nature of failure pointing to the underlying cause and likely load when the rope failed. We routinely conduct forensic analysis of failed samples, using a variety of tools (such as SEM's) as well as international standards coupled with our in-house calculation and statistical methods.
